Eve Stockton Announces Art Installation at NYU Langone Medical Center

September, 2015

New York University Langone Medical Center has installed a collection of Eve Stockton’s art. Highlights include:

Woodland Skyscape: Stockton’s large-scale woodcut prints are inspired by close observation of nature. The enlarged scale of this ceiling installation magnifies the imagery of the forest canopy experienced through tree silhouettes. The interplay of layered colors and shapes creates a playful balance between representation and abstraction while inviting the viewer to not only look out but also look above.

Ensemble: Clouds & Zumscapes: Eve Stockton’s woodcut prints are inspired by the natural world observed and the primordial world imagined. Her presentation of prints in series helps her to enlarge on themes of variation and scale. With this grouping of Clouds and Zumscape prints, colors shift subtly to suggest the passage of time or the process of evolution.
